Improved Safety Features & Performance Will Be Added To 2017 Yamaha R15

Yamaha Motors India has only provided new colours and graphics to its YZF-R15. The Version 2.0 was launched in India sometime during 2011. Now reports suggest that the Japanese manufacturer is working on an all-new entry-level sportbike.

This would be the third iteration of Yamaha YZF-R15 sportbike, or as the manufacturer would like to call it, the 'Version 3.0'. We expect the design and bodywork to get more aggressive and sporty. The headlight and front fascia is expected to be redesigned for a sleek and sharp persona.

Apart from the design, Yamaha engineers would also extract more performance from their engine. They would also make their engine more efficient, owing to stringent emission norms. The 2017 YZF-R15 will be faster and more engaging to ride than the current generation sportbike.

In terms of safety, Yamaha is most likely to equip the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 with ABS. They will also have to provide AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) system on their motorcycle. ABS & AHO on two-wheelers is being made mandatory by Indian Government.

The Version 2.0 had split seats, however, many customers prefer the uni style seat. For 2017, Yamaha would look for a compromise between both seat options to suit a wider audience. Expect dramatic changes that improve every aspect of the Yamaha YZF-R15 sportbike.
