Yamaha To Launch A New Scooter On 7th May In India
Yamaha had announced last year that they would be focussing on scooters in India. The Japanese manufacturer was recently seen testing a new scooter that looked like the Nozza Grande.
The Nozza Grande is currently on sale in several international markets. It has been specifically designed for Asian customers. Yamaha India is most likely to launch this model in India on 7th May, 2015.
This will be Yamaha's first 125cc scooter for Indian markets. Currently Piaggio Vespa, Honda Activa and Suzuki's Swish and Access 125 are available in this segment in India.
Yamaha's new scooter will be manufactured from their new facility in Chennai. The manufacturer will provide design and features similar to Nozza Grande, however, expect heavy chrome embellishment across the scooter.
No engine or technical details have been provided so far. Further details will be provide post the launch of Yamaha's new 125cc scooter for Indian market.
It is most likely that Yamaha will provide their new scooter with a carburetor instead of the more expensive fuel injection system. We expect this scooter will be priced at approximately INR 75,000 ex-showroom.
