UM Motorcycles To Begin India Operations With 400cc Cruiser Motorcycle
UM Motorcycles will be coming to India soon with their range of motorcycles. Their first motorcycle will be a cruiser motorcycle and will be launched by mid-2015.
The American two-wheeler manufacture will be partnering with Lohia Group. They will be launching the cruiser motorcycle with heavy localisation, thus enabling a lower price.
UM Motorcycle is most likely to launch its Renegade model in India as their first model. They will provide a 400cc engine in their motorcycle and is expected at a price of sub INR 1,50,000.
The goal of this American motorcycle manufacturer is to launch a new model every six months. UM Motorcycles has a wide range of products in global markets and their introduction in Indian market is most likely.
It is unclear in which model will UM Motorcycles provide the 400cc engine. The American based manufacturer will locally assemble this engine and it will be specially developed for Indian market.
UM Motorcycles will launch its products against the likes of Royal Enfield, Bajaj, Hyosung and Benelli. The two-wheeler industry is fast growing in India for premium motorcycles. More and more manufacturers are expected to enter during 2016 Auto Expo.
