Suzuki Showcase Special Livery For GSX-R 30th Anniversary
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has been developing motorcycles for a long-time. Suzuki has a long list of performance focused motorcycles that use the GSX nomenclature.
Suzuki in 2015 is celebrating their 30th anniversary of their GSX-R. As part of their celebration they have launched a special livery, which will be first seen in MotoGP at Sachsenring, Germany.
It is the same livery that was made famous by Kevin Schwantz in 1987 Superbike National Championship. Now in 2015 Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales will adorn similar livery as a tribute.
Suzuki Motorcycle will also launch limited editions model that enthusiasts and collectors can purchase. The entire GSX-R range will receive special livery and will be available globally.
Whether India will receive this special edition or not is currently unclear. There is always a few people who would love to own a race replica motorcycle and it is definitely a collector's item worth flaunting.
Satoru Terada, Project Leader, Team Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP, said, "When we started developing the MotoGP machine we clearly had in mind that it would be named the GSX-RR, therefore keeping a very strong connection with the GSX-R."
He further added, "This name at Suzuki means a lot, because it has a very strong heritage both in road machines and in racing machines."
