Suzuki S1000 & S1000F Could Be Heading To India Soon

Suzuki Motorcycle India has realised that India is predominantly a young and growing market. They are now contemplating launching more premium and upmarket products for India.

The Japanese manufacturer believes Indians are ready to own bigger and more meaner motorcycles. Suzuki could bring its S1000 and S1000F motorcycles to India sooner than expected.

Both S1000 and S1000F share the same engine and the major difference is one is a street-fighter, while the other sports a fairing. These motorcycles will be brought to India as Completely Built Units(CBU).

Here are the engine and performance figures for S1000 and S1000F:

• Engine: 999cc inline four cylinder, liquid cooled
• Horsepower: 143.5
• Torque: 106 Nm
• Gearbox: 6-speed constant mesh

Suzuki currently sells the M 800, M 1800R, Bandit 1250S, Hayabusa, V-Strom 1000 and GSX-R1000 superbikes in India. Both S1000 and S1000F will fit perfectly in portfolio and we are sure there will be buyers for these bikes.

It is unclear when the Japanese manufacturer would launch these bikes in India. We estimate both S1000 and S1000F will be launch by 2015-end. Pricing will be key and we believe it will be priced between INR 10,00,000 to INR 12,00,000 ex-showroom.
