Suzuki Gixxer 250 Spied In Chinese Facility; India Bound
Suzuki Motorcycles has been manufacturing its Inazuma model from its facility in Changzhou, China. Now, spy shots have emerged of the highly anticipated Gixxer 250 also known as GSX-R250. Several models of the fully-faired motorcycle can be seen in the spy images.
The Gixxer 250 is most likely to be showcased at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. Suzuki will be using the Inazuma as its base and will share several parts and components between both models. The motorcycle will also receive several race inspired components for a race bike like feel.
Powering the Gixxer 250 will be the same engine that does duty in Suzuki's Inazuma. Under the fairing will be a 248cc, twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Performance figures are not known, however, the engine is likely to produce more horsepower and torque to match the sports bike persona.
In terms of styling, Suzuki has opted for the tried and tested GSXR look. The Gixxer 250 will look similar to the GSX-R1000 superbike. Suzuki designers have provided the soon to be launched Gixxer 250 with an aggressive design language to appeal to younger buyers.
Suzuki India has witnessed tremendous success with the Gixxer range of products in the country. With the inclusion of the Gixxer 250, Suzuki is expected to rake in more sales. The Gixxer 250 by Suzuki will compete against the Honda CBR 250R, KTM RC200, and the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycles.
