Suzuki Gixxer has recorded over 10,000 units sales in October 2015, in India. The naked streetfighter motorcycle is gaining popularity slowly, yet steadily. In India, Suzuki Motorcycles offer two versions of the Gixxer, a fully-faired and a naked version.
The Gixxer achieved selling 10,000 units in a single month, for the very first time since its launch in September 2014. Suzuki sales have been on a gradual incline with the introduction of Gixxer and Gixxer SF motorcycles in the country.
Both motorcycles, are promoted and endorsed by Bollywood Star, Salman Khan. Recently, Suzuki Gixxer was provided with an updated paint scheme ahead of the festive season in the country. The new paint schemes are called Candy Antares Red/ Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue/ Pearl Mirage White.
Powering the Suzuki Gixxer motorcycles is a 154.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Engineers have tuned the unit to produce 14.59bhp and 14Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Gixxer costs Rs. 89,228 on-road for the mono-tone colour option. Suzuki charges Rs. 90,366 on-road (Mumbai) for their dual-tone paint scheme of Gixxer motorcycles. The Gixxer SF motorcycle costs Rs.99,030 on-road (Mumbai) for the base variant.
Suzuki is rumoured to be developing a 250cc Gixxer for emerging markets. There is a high possibility of Suzuki using the discontinued Inazuma engine for its new project. Engineers will, however, re-tune the engine to match the needs of a supersport motorcycle. Stay tuned for more updates from Suzuki India.
