Max Biaggi To Make Second Wildcard Entry At WSBK Sepang GP

By Ajinkya

Two-time WSBK world champion, Max Biaggi left the sport during the peak of his career in 2012. During his final year he secured the championship for a second time in his career and left on a high note.

The Italian made a wildcard comeback to WSBK with Aprilia at the Misano GP, on 21st of June, 2015. In race one Max Biaggi finished a strong fifth place, while in race two, he secured sixth place.

Not a bad result for a rider who has been away from competition for almost three years. He will now be riding once again as a wildcard entrant at Malaysia in Sepang GP for Aprilia Factory team.

Max Biaggi has no commitment for finishing high up and is doing it solely out of passion. The Italian has never raced a SBK motorcycle at Sepang and his last ride around the circuit was ten years ago.

Aprilia officials have confirmed that their motorcycle prefers the Sepang circuit and there should be no hassles for Biaggi. It will be interesting to see how the Italian performs one more time for his fans.

Biaggi has confirmed that he did not expect fans to come out and support him in this endeavour. He was humbled by an overwhelming response and is sure to put on a show for his Malaysian fans as well.
