Marco Melandri In Talks With Ducati For Private Team Ride
Marco Melandri was part of 2015 MotoGP Championship, the Italian rider was riding for Aprilia. The Italian rider had a miserable season and did not have any positive effect from his endeavour.
Melandri decided to end his contract with Aprilia and decided to leave due to his performance. Now he is in talks with Ducati for a ride next season, however,it would not be a factory team.
Ducati will place Marco Melandri in one of their private teams, providing him some comfort. He will not be participating in MotoGP and the Italian will be heading to WSBK's Althea Racing team.
Previously Marco Melandri was rumoured to ride for Yamaha in WSBK with their new YZF-R1 superbike. The Italian rider, however, has better relations with Ducati team and their officials.
Gigi Dall' Igna is currently in charge of Ducati Corse, who previously worked with Aprilia. Marco Melandri has previously worked with both Aprilia factory team and Gigi Dall' Igna in WSBK.
It is most likely that Melandri will make a WSBK appearance once again during the end of 2015 Championship. It is unclear which bike though will Marco Melandri make his presence on.
