Dani Pedrosa & Repsol Honda Decimate The 2015 Malayasian MotoGp Qualifying
The Malaysian MotoGP qualifying session has wrapped up, and once again the lap record is shattered. Repsol Honda's, Dani Pedrosa has decimated the lap record, which was previously set by Marc Marquez. The Spaniard set a lap time of 1'59.053, which is the fastest lap ever around the Sepang circuit.
Valentino Rossi's lap times was not impressive during the practice, and even in the initial laps of the qualifying session. Surprisingly, ‘The Doctor' set his fastest lap time ever around the Sepang circuit on the last lap; Rossi will begin tomorrow's race from the first row (third position).
Jorge Lorenzo was consistent as ever and looked poised for a front row start. The Yamaha Movistar rider could not improve his lap time and was disappointed with his performance. Lorenzo will start from the fourth position, behind championship rival and teammate, Rossi.
The Malaysian GP is expected to suit the Ducati race machies due to the two long-straights. Unfortunately, Andrea Iannone from the Ducati team only managed a sixth fastest lap time, while Andrea Dovizioso his teammate was close in seventh place.
The rivalry between Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, and Marc Marquez has intensified. The trio got into a debacle at the pre-qualifying Press Conference in Malaysia. Rossi expressed that Marquez would like Lorenzo to win the 2015 MotoGP Championship and is aiding his compatriot.
DriveSpark Thinks! Tyre management and strategy will matter tomorrow, and all riders will have to choose wisely.
Tomorrow's Malaysian race will be very exciting, as it is the second last race in the 2015 MotoGP Championship; the race begins at 12:30 PM IST on Ten Sports.
