Kawasaki Launches 2016 ZZR1400 In Two Variants
Kawasaki launches two new variants of the ZZR1400 (2016 model). The Japanese superbike manufacturer now offers the ZZR1400 in a standard variant and a performance variant. Prices start at INR 16,80,000 ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Performance sports version of the Kawasaki ZZR1400 will receive several new features. These include Akrapovic exhaust system, Ohlins TTX39 rear shock, a brembo radial-pump master cylinder with stainless steel brake lines, and Brembo M50 monobloc brake calipers.
Powering the Kawasaki ZZR1400 is an inline, four-cylinder, 1441cc liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces 197.18 horsepower and 162.5Nm of peak torque. And mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the ZZR1400 can attain a top speed of 299 km/h. The superbike is capable of achieving higher top speeds numbers; however, the engine is electronically restricted. Engineers have also altered the ECU and the superbike comes with an all-new evaporative exhaust system, allowing the 2016 model to adhere to Euro 4 emission norms.
The ZZR1400 and the Performance sports version now sport a new instrument console. The instrument console gets LCD panel with dot background for a retro look, and the cluster display is interchangeable to black or white.
Kawasaki ZZR1400 competes with the Suzuki Hayabusa, which has gone through an upgrade as well. Both these motorcycles are phenomenal and are constantly trying to outdo the other by setting new speed records.
