Yamaha India organised a special event for a few lucky YZF-R3 owners. The YZF-R3 owners were given a chance to ride their supersport motorcycles around the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. Another surprise was Jorge Lorenzo riding around the track with the lucky owners.
30 lucky Yamaha YZF-R3 owners were given the opportunity to ride with Lorenzo around Buddh International Circuit. Yamaha recently introduced the YZF-R3 motorcycle in the Indian market. The YZF-R3 is launched at a price of Rs. 3.25 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Only two colour options of YZF-R3 will be available in the Indian market
In India, Yamaha has been promoting motorsport for a while now. Yamaha organises a one-make race for Indian riders. The bikes have been specially prepared for racing with special bodywork, race exhausts, and other performance parts.
Currently, Yamaha provides only the YZF-R15 version 2.0 motorcycle for their one make race competition. There is a high possibility of Yamaha introducing the YZF-R3 motorcycle next season for one make race competition.
Yamaha India has been getting MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo to India often, in an attempt to boost motorsport activity. Jorge Lorenzo was recently crowned 2015 MotoGP Champion. Lorenzo now is a three-time MotoGP Champion and has won all times onboard the Yamaha M1.
