Husqvarna Motorcycles To Be Built In India At KTM-Bajaj Facility
The orange motorcycle brand has witnessed tremendous success in India. KTM had never expected that India would turn out to be such a huge market as it is today.
Now the Austrian based two-wheeler manufacturer will bring the Husqvarna brand to India. In the initial phase they will only manufacture the motorcycles here and send it out in CKD form.
Husqvarna will only have two models manufactured in India. These include the Vitpilen and Svartpilen both of which have a retro-modern look and appeal.
Both motorcycles will commence production in India by late next year. Bajaj is currently focussing on reviving its Pulsar image in India and is diverting all its attention on their own projects.
Vitpilen and Svartpilen were motorcycles that were showcased at 2014 EICMA motorcycle show as concepts. They will begin their manufacturing journey from India as CKD units, which will be assembled in Austria and then shipped further on.
India could get these motorcycles as late as 2017 as KTM and Bajaj will focus their products here. Husqvarna will have to take a backseat for the time being in India. These two motorcycles could be a good addition to Indian market.
In terms of pricing, we are aware that KTM knows the formula of competitive pricing in India. Husqvarna will surely take the Austrian manufacturers help in pricing its motorcycles aggressively against its competitors.
