Honda CB Hornet 160R Could Launch In India On November 19, 2015
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India could be launching the CB Hornet 160R on November 19, 2015. Previously, this naked street fighter was showcased to the general public at Honda's 2015 Revfest. The new CB Hornet 160R is most likely to replace the slow moving CB Trigger model.
Powering the CB Hornet 160R is a 162.71cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Honda engineers have tuned this engine to deliver 14.5bhp along with 14.61Nm of torque and a fuel economy of approximately 50 km/l. The engine will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
The CB Hornet 160R motorcycle will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels. Braking force will be provided by disc brakes in the front and rear, along with Honda's Combi Braking System (CBS). Honda will be providing a mono shock in the rear while front gets a regular telescopic suspension.
The overall design of CB Hornet 160R is aggressive, muscular, and sharp. Honda designers have opted for an angular headlight, and the rear tail light gets a unique X design. The black plastic panels have also been texturized for a carbon-fibre-like-feel.
Regarding pricing, expect Honda's CB Hornet 160R to be in the range of Rs. 85,000 - Rs. 95,000/- ex-showroom. The motorcycle will have to compete with the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ-S, and TVS Apache 160.
Honda earlier this year announced that they would be introducing 15 new products in the country. Out of the 15 new products, Honda has so far launched 13 products. After Honda launches the CB Hornet 160R (14th product), we expect a 125cc (15th product) to be launched by this year-end.
