Hero MotoCorp Three Performance Bikes Scheduled For 2016
Hero MotoCorp is not developing one, but three new performance bikes. The new bikes will be introduced in the Indian market by 2016 itself. So far, the manufacturer has not confirmed any details and an official announcement could be made prior to Auto Expo.
Previously, Hero MotoCorp showcased the HX250R and the Hastur models at the 2014 Auto Expo. Erik Buell Racing was the technical partner for development of Hero MotoCorp's performance bikes. Unfortunately, Erik Buell Racing declared bankruptcy, which delayed the launch of their motorcycles.
More details of the performance bikes from Hero MotoCorp is likely to be available at the 2016 Auto Expo. There is a high possibility that Hero MotoCorp could showcase a production ready HX250R and a close to production ready version of the Hastur motorcycle.
Hero MotoCorp will be inaugurating its Research and Development centre in Jaipur. The official inauguration of the R&D centre will be done on January 14, 2016. An investment of Rs. 450 crore will be incurred by Hero MotoCorp for the development of their future models.
The new performance bikes are expected to be leaders in existing segments. Hero MotoCorp is not planning to enter an all-new segment with its performance bikes. Stay tuned for more updates from Hero MotoCorp and confirmation on further development.
