Ducati Unveil Monster 1200 R; Most Powerful Naked Motorcycle To Date
The gates to Frankfurt Motor Show have opened on 15th of September, 2015. Several manufacturers took the opportunity to showcase their concept and upcoming models.
Ducati unveiled their Monster 1200 R, which they are claiming as the most powerful naked motorcycle built by them. It will go on sale in several international markets from early 2016 onwards.
Powering the Ducati Monster 1200 R will be the following:
- Engine: 1198.4cc L-Twin cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid-cooled
- Horsepower: 160
- Torque: 131.4Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed
Italian superbike manufacturer will also provide its Monster 1200 R with 9MP ABS system and 8-levels of Ducati Traction Control as standard. It offers three pre-set riding modes Urban, Touring and Sport.
Monster 1200 R gets several new components which have been selected for a lighter motorcycle weight. The bike will weigh only 180 kilograms owing to carbon fibre and forged aluminium components.
Only two colour options are available with Ducati Monster 1200 R. They are Thrilling Black and Ducati Red. Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding unveiled this latest Monster.
