DSK Hyosung Imports GD250N & GD250R For Testing
DSK Motowheels currently owns two popular superbike brands in India. Their latest partner is the iconic Italian brand Benelli, while their previous partnership was with Korean brand Hyosung.
The Indo-Korean duo have been offering a mix of superbikes, street fighters and cruiser motorcycles. All these are in the premium category and cater to amiche market in India.
DSK Hyosung has now imported two new motorcycles to India for testing and other purposes. These are the fully-faired GD250R and a naked street fighter the GD250N motorbikes.
Both these motorcycles have been showcased previously at 2014 Auto Expo. DSK had promised to launch these motorcycles during 2014, however, they were delayed for some reason or another.
Here are the engine specifications for GD250R and GD250N, which share the same engine:
- Engine: 249cc, single cylinder
- Cooling System: liquid cooling
- Horsepower: 28
- Torque: 24
- Gearbox: 6-speed
Currently the GD250R and GD250N will compete head on with KTM's Duke 200 and RC200. The fully-faired motorcycle will also have to fend off Honda's popular CBR 250R. Benelli is also keen at launching its TNT 25, which is a single cylinder 250cc naked streetfighter.
DSK Hyosung will have to be spot on with their pricing if they want to witness success. We are expecting these motorcycles to be priced in the sub 2,00,000 bracket and could be launched by mid-2015.
Do let us know in the comment section if you have any experience with Hyosung motorcycles? Is it possible for DSK to improve the fit and finish on their Korean based motorcycles.
