Bosch Inaugurates Its Sixth Manufacturing Facility In India
Bosch is a German multinational engineering and electronics company which is situated in Gerlingen, Stuttgart, Germany. It was founded in November of 1886 by Robert Bosch. As of today they are the largest suppliers of automotive component all over the world.
Today as a step in building a stronger Asia-Pacific business model Bosch has inaugurated their sixth manufacturing facility. This new facility is situated at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu, Gangaikondan, tamil Nadu. This new facility will cater to India's growing two-wheeler segment.
The German component manufacturer has spent in excess of INR 500 million. This facility in Tamil Nadu is their sixth manufacturing plant and displays its trust in the Indian market. It will also help Bosch in achieving its long term goals along with facilitating localisation of parts.
Dr. Steffen Berns, Managing Director of Bosch Limited, explained, "It is important for our Gasoline Systems business division to have a strong manufacturing foot-print in an important and growing market like India. The extended local production capabilities in this new state-of-the art location will help Gasoline Systems to further grow its market share with a competitive product portfolio."
Sandeep N, Regional President Gasoline Systems, Bosch Limited, commented, "The new plant is an important part of Bosch's strategy to enter the competitive two-wheeler market in India with Electronic Fuel Injection systems."
At this new facility, Bosch will manufacture oiler train sensors, air management components and fuel delivery modules, which will be used in two-wheeler as well as four-wheelers. This new facility is spread across 6,500 square metres and will help in localising manufacturer as well as achieving lower costs.
