MotoGP: Aleix Espargaro Fractures Vertebrae During Training

Aleix Espargaro who rides for Team Suzuki Ecstar in MotoGP has fractured his vertebrae in the back. The accident occurred during a training session on an off-road machine. He complained of back pain after landing from a couple of jumps awkwardly.

Espargaro was immediately rushed to the Hospital Universitari Quiron Deixeus in Barcelona, Spain. He was kept overnight under observation and went through several medical check-ups. An MRI scan confirmed that Espargaro had a flexion fracture of the T9 vertebrae.

The accident occurred on November 19, 2015, near Aleix Espargaro's hometown in Granollers, Spain. Doctors have advised the Suzuki MotoGP rider to take complete rest. He is not allowed to ride a bike for the next two-to-three weeks or until he completely recovers.

Aleix will miss out on a vital pre-season testing organised by Suzuki with Michelin at Sepang, Malaysia. His team-mate Maverick Vinales will be accompanied by Suzuki test riders Nobuatsu Aoki and Takuya Tsuda. They will begin their test with 2016 MotoGP machine, Michelin tyres, and the new software.

Recently Team Suzuki Ecstar unveiled their 2016 livery in MotoGP at EICMA in Milan. They also revealed their future motorsport plans. Also on display at the 2015 EICMA Motor Show was the Suzuki Concept GSX-R1000 motorcycle, which will be the best superbike till date from Suzuki.
