Yamaha To Offer R25 With ABS From 2015
Japanese two-wheeler giant Yamaha has always captivated the imagination of youngsters. They have always produced motorcycles that have everyone wanting them. In India it all passion for the brand rekindled with their YZF-R15 with their modern bikes.
Everyone was aware that they were working on a 250cc engine with MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi. They had showcased the prototype model in several motor shows. Post the showcase in India at 2014 Auto Expo, Yamaha launched their R25 only in Indonesia.
The Japanese manufacturer has promised to launch its quarter-litre motorcycle in several countries, India being one of them. Yamaha recently revealed their R3 model, which is being developed specifically for United States and United Kingdom.
Yamaha launched its R25 sans ABS, however, since many countries are making safety features mandatory. The Japanese manufacturer will offer their R3 with ABS as standard, while the R25 will have the option.
It will be just like Honda's CBR 250R, which is available with or without ABS. This allows the owner of the motorcycle to choose whether he would like to pay extra for some safety. According to us just like the RC390 from KTM ABS should not be an option, just a standard feature.
Yamaha will be launching the R25 in India soon. Once launched it will compete with Honda's soon to be launched CBR 300R, KTM RC390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. The R3 will not come to India as it will be overpriced for Indian market and will not attract many buyers.
