Yamaha Plans New 125cc Scooter For India
Japanese automobile giant, Yamaha had realised India is a serious market for them. They had announced earlier that they will be concentrating on their scooter segment in India. Now they plan to get an all new 125cc scooter to India.
The scooter industry in India is a huge market and is currently being led by Honda Motorcycle India. They have their Activa, Activa i, Activa 125, Aviator and Dio. This is a strong product lineup. Yamaha is not far behind with its Alpha, Ray and Ray-z.

The scooter from Yamaha will not make it to India before mid 2015. The Japanese manufacturer will manufacturer its new scooter at its Chennai facility. Yamaha currently offers three scooters in India with the same 113cc engine. This will be their first 125cc offering in India.

Yamaha recently announced a 125cc scooter for Vietnam called the Nozza Grande. The engine will sport a 125cc fuel injected engine. The scooter will have superior performance and fuel efficiency. It is an Asian specific model and we expect a similar scooter with a different name coming to India.

Yamaha had showcased a couple of scooters in India during the 2014 Auto Expo held in New Delhi. There are several options in front of the Japanese manufacturer and they could get any scooter to India. We would appreciate if they could get the X-Max 125 or BW 125 to India.

Currently the scooter market is booming in India. Manufacturers like Honda, Piaggio, Mahindra and Suzuki are betting high and are getting new products. Even Hero MotoCorp has something interesting with their Dare scooter. Get ready for a string of launches to commence in 2015 of scooters.
