Suzuki Targets 15 Percent Market Share With Let’s Scooter
Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited (SMIL)has entered the personal scooter segment with the launch of the Let's. A 112cc scooter that's targeted at students and young professionals.
SMIL is hoping to make it big with the Let's which will be pitted against the segment leader Honda Dio.
Speaking to reports during its launch in Bangalore, Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India said that SMIL aims to capture a market share of 15 percent in the scooter segment in the country.
At present, the company holds 12 percent market share, with Karnataka, where it has the largest customer base, accounting for 16 percent, which is more than its national average.
With the launch of the Let's SMIL believes the national share will grow to 15 percent, while in Karnataka that number will grow to 22 percent.
The company is targeting 1 lakh unit sales for the Let's in the 2014-15 financial year.
Suzuki is conducting a regional wise launch of the Let's that started with Tamil Nadu in the South, followed by Kerala and Karnataka. The Let's will next move to the East and then to the North of India.
