MotoGP 2014 Le Mans Race Review
We had reported before the race on Sunday that Movistar Yamaha rider, Valentino Rossi has expressed his feeling to race further and with the Tuning Fork's outfit. Fans and critics were skeptical whether the 35-year-old Italian would be able to compete with the MotoGP young guns. At the 2014 Le Mans GP, he proved he still has a few years in him and can compete with the top dogs.
Youngest-ever MotoGP champion and this year's championship leader, Marc Marquez started the race in pole position however, he could not make a clean getaway and was pushed back to tenth position after the first lap. He fought valiantly and was with the top runners.

Valentino Rossi saw an opening in Marc Marquez's poor start and tried to open up a gap in front. However, a mistake while braking for a corner cost him his position to Marc Marquez, who overtook the Italian and did not look back.
The Repsol Honda Champion won the race clean and fair without any last lap theatrics. It was surprising to see that Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, who are considered title contenders, could not keep up with Rossi or Marquez.

Lorenzo crossed the finish line in sixth position while fellow compatriot Dani Pedrosa was ahead in fifth position. The Repsol Honda rider collected important points and is still ahead of Rossi in the Championship standing. Lorenzo on the other hand is fifth in the championship.
Yamaha's satellite team Monster Tech 3 rider Pol Espargaro in his fifth race pulled off a great performance and was third for most of the time during the race. He was however, overtaken by Alvaro Bautista of GO&Fun Honda Gresini team and could not fight back. It was the first time Bautista stood on the podium in 2014.

The next race is scheduled to take place in Mugello, Italy on the 1st of June, 2014. Let's see if we get a new rider on pole position, or even better, watch Italy's own Valentino Rossi break Marc Marquez's run of five consecutive victories. Since the Italian looks strongest and consistent, it seems likely he will up the ante and take the challenge up to the youngest MotoGP winner.
