Lotus C-01 Motorcycle Specification Rumors Surface
It was back in June that we first heard about the a new motorcycle being developed under the ‘Lotus Motorcycles' brand name. The motorcycle, named C-01, is said to be a ‘hyper bike', powered by an engine capable of generating 200 HP of power.
It's been several months since the announcement during which there has not been a single bit of information released about the upcoming motorcycle. That is until now.

Sources with knowledge about the matter have revealed to Visor Down that the purported 200 HP engine will be a V-Twin motor sourced from a yet undisclosed supplier. The engine in its stock form is said to be a 170 horsepower unit that has been worked upon to boost the power output for C-01.

The sources further revealed that a pair of Lotus Motorcycles C-01 prototypes are currently undergoing testing, having already done several thousand kilometers and are said to be handling very well. One of the two prototypes is also said to sport carbon-fiber bodywork.
Lotus Motorcycles C-01 is not officially a product being developed by the car manufacturer. Instead, it is a project that's being under taken by Germany's Holzer Group and Kodewa racing team (the team runs the Lotus Le Mans Prototype 2 endurance race car). The duo have merely acquired the rights to use the ‘Lotus' name and logo.
The man behind the Lotus Motorcycles C-01's design is the company's head designer, Daniel Simon, who designed the light cycles from the movie Tron: Legacy, the Bubbleships from the movie Oblivion and the livery on the above mentioned LMP2 race car.
First official details about the Lotus Motorcycles C-01 will arrive in February.
