MotoGP Last Pre Season Test First Day Result
The MotoGP season is soon to begin at Qatar under floodlights however, before that there is one last pre season testing for the open class.
The testing was open to all however, Factory teams decided to stay away from the action. Thus, Yamaha, Honda and even the newly joined Open class Ducati were absent from testing.
This could prove advantageous or disastrous for Factory teams. They will now have only the two day practice before race day to set their bike up for the night race at Qatar.
The first day of testing at Qatar witnessed Aleix Espargaro setting the fastest time of the evening. However, not far behind was the Yamaha Tech3 pair of Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro.
In a rather strange coincidence both Honda satellite team riders Alvaro Bautista of GO&FUN Honda Gresini and LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl recorded identical lap times.
Pramac Ducati rider Andrea Iannone was sixth fastest and believes he can go faster in the remaining two days of testing.
Nicky Hayden who left Ducati for a Honda seat, was still seen struggling and could only manage ninth fastest on his Drive M7 Aspar bike.
It will be interesting to see who will make it to the top of the sheet in the coming two days of practice. Can Ducati improve or will Aleix Espargaro maintain his position.
