The litre-class segment in India is not the most popular. However, the new generation of riders are opting for more tameable options. Kawasaki brought its Ninja 650 to India sometime ago, since then it has got just one change and is awaiting a facelift.
The Japanese two wheeler giant has brought a wide range of products to India, thanks to Bajaj their partners. Since, then many manufacturers have tried to exploit this space in the Indian market. However, no one has come close to the sensation that the Ninja is.
Kawasaki is expected to showcase its new Ninja 650 at the upcoming EICMA 2014. It will be held in Milan during November, 2014. The motorcycle will receive design as well as engine upgrades. The Japanese engineers will also make their motorcycle lighter than the current generation model.

The competition is expected to spice up, owing to many top manufacturers entering this space. Kawasaki will surely get the new Ninja 650 to India, however, we believe it won't come before 2015. In 2015 there are several competitors that could unsettle Kawasaki's throne.
Honda has confirmed it will launch its CBR650F in India by 2015. They plan to assemble the entire motorcycle locally thus, lowering costs. An added incentive is that Honda will provide an in-line four mill. The Hyosung GT650R is a direct competitor, as they both have two cylinders, however, the South Korean manufacturer offers its motorcycle at a much affordable price.
