Kawasaki Reveals Its 2015 Vulcan S Cruiser
Japanese two-wheeler giant Kawasaki recently launched its Z250 and ER-6N motorcycles in India. It also showcased its much awaited Ninja H2R super bike model with a supercharged engine. Now they have revealed to us their upcoming cruiser bike.
The Japanese manufacturer has christened its cruiser bike the ‘Vulcan S'. It is based on their existing line-up of Ninja 650 and their ER-6N. This will be Kawasaki's entry level cruiser motorcycle across the globe.
The Vulcan S sports a 649cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke parallel twin engine. It will be capable of producing 62 Nm of peak torque, along with 61.12 horsepower. The cruiser's engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The owner has an option to choose whether he needs ABS or not.
The chassis of Vulcan S is made of high-tensile steel double pipe perimeter frame. It sports an offset rear shock with linkage and adjustable preload. The cruiser motorcycle will be available only in three colours: Candy Lime Green, Flat Ebony and Pearl Crystal White.
Kawasaki's Vulcan S is not like traditional cruisers. It surely looks like one, however, the features and engine layout sets it apart. It features an analogue/digital instrument console, which consists of an analogue tachometer–the rest is digital.
The Vulcan S will be offered with several options like seat, handlebar and foot peg choices. The cruiser motorcycle weighs only 226 kilograms and is a considerably lightweight option. Kawasaki has styled their bike well and have a winner in their corner.
Kawasaki could bring this cruiser to India as well and can compete head on with the competitively priced Harley-Davidson Street 750. The Vulcan S has been priced at INR 4,28,163 for Non-ABS model, while the ABS fitted model will set you back by INR 4,52,633 in the United States of America. The cruiser motorcycle will be showcased at 2014 EICMA in November.
