India's largest two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp has seen its exports grow in Sri Lanka and Africa. The company has seen large volumes being sold in Sri Lanka recently.
Hero MotoCorp, is the world's largest two-wheeler maker in terms of volume. The company currently exports its motorcycles to 22 countries. The company is targeting 10 percent growth from exports alone.
The company is all set to launch its two-wheelers in Colombia very soon, badged as "Hero".
Hero MotoCorp will launch the Splendor iSmart, Eco Deluxe, Passion-Pro, Glamour, Hunk, and Karizma ZMR in Colombia and will begin with 120 dealers, later expanding to over 150 in a year.
The company will sell these motorcycle with a five year warranty period. Colombia is one of South America's largest two-wheeler market after Brazil and Argentina.
Hero MotoCorp is ready to set foot in Europe by 2015 and the US market soon after. The company is also ready to set up two manufacturing facilities overseas, in Colombia and Bangladesh, which will be ready by 2016. The construction work for a new state-of-the-art plant in Colombia has already begun.
The company at the moment has assembly units set up with the help of local dealers in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
