Ducati Touches One Million Production Milestone With Monster 1200S
Ducati has reached the one million motorcycle production milestone with the Monster 1200S. The one millionth motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer rolled off production line and was even handed over to its customer.
Ernesto Passoni, aged 47, is the proud owner of this motorcycle. He was handed over the key in a special ceremony which had the CEO of Ducati, Claudio Domenicali and two Audi top executives, Prof. Rupert Stadler, Audi Group CEO and Luca De Meo, Member of the Board for Marketing and Sales, Audi AG present.
Domenicali personally handed over the motorcycle to its new owner, who is a Ducati fan himself and a rider. He ordered a new Ducati 1200S motorcycle, but was unaware of the fact that it was the one millionth motorcycle.
He was later told that the motorcycle was special, being the one millionth one and was also told that he will be taking part in a very special ceremony, where he was handed the motorcycle.
The Monster 1200S, being the one millionth Ducati to be manufactured, has a special marking on the handlebar, which marks the motorcycle's uniqueness and importance.
The 1200 series of motorcycles from Ducati is powered by a 1198 cc Testastretta 11° DS engine, which produces 135 horsepower while the S version produces 145 horsepower.
