Bosch Develops Affordable Fuel Injector For Bikes
The Indian two-wheeler market is growing rapidly and Bosch will be introducing their components for the two-wheeler market soon.
Bosch has, at present, been developing fuel injector systems for four-wheelers. They will now develop an electronically-controlled fuel injector for two-wheelers. The new injectors can be adapted for any carburetted system. In the coming future it is expected that carburettors will be completely replaced by fuel injectors and Bosch will be ready with their product.
The German manufacturing unit explains that carburettor systems are soon being phased out by manufacturer in two wheelers, just as it was done with four wheelers. Bosch's new fuel injector can be adapted to performance bikes that are available in developed markets like America and Europe. It can also be used on single-cylinder bikes which are famous in the Asian continent.
Bosch claim their new fuel injector will cost the same as the carburettor. They have been able to control the cost of their injector owing to the compact engine control unit, along with injection valve with more functions. The German company is working to eliminate sensors with the help of a new software and functioning of the unit.
Bosch is developing their fuel injector to provide connectivity that will allow riders to check their two wheelers fuel consumption as well as journey details via their smartphones. The system will be sophisticated and can even immobilise the system by cutting the fuel supply through the owner's smartphone.
Bosch currently offers ABS systems for motorcycles along with stability control systems. Developing two-wheeler injection systems is a good move by the German company as it will mainly target its products in India as well as other Asian countries. The two wheeler market is rapidly growing and will only grow further, and Bosch wants to cash on that.
