BMW Motorrad To Sell S1000R In India
BMW has been selling vehicles in India for a while now however they do not have a dedicated showroom for their premium and powerful motorbikes. They will sell their CBU (Completely Built Unit) bikes through their car dealers in selected cities. The German automobile giant has officially launched the S1000R in India at a price of INR 26,50,000 in Mumbai.
The S1000R by BMW will compete head on with the Japanese-built Kawasaki Z1000 and Honda's CB1000R but the German naked sport bike will cost almost double the price of the Japanese bikes. This makes the bike super-premium and will keep it out of reach of most enthusiasts, which is a bit sad.

The S1000R by BMW will be available at the moment in selected cities of India through their car showrooms. In Mumbai and Bangalore, it will be available with Navnit Motors, while in Delhi it will be available with Deutsche Motoren.
The S1000R will sport a 1000cc in-line four engine, which is capable of producing 163 horsepower along with 112 Nm of peak torque. It is based on its race-bred sibling, the S1000RR, that has won several trophies on the race track. BMW will offer the bike with several safety features like special riding modes that will make the bike easier and safer to ride.

The rider can choose from Dynamic, Dynamic R, Rain and Road modes. The Dynamic package is a special add-on, while the road and road mode come as a standard equipment. The bike will also sport ABS and ASC as standard, the ASC improves stability of the power packed machine.
It is great to know that BMW will be offering several safety features as standard. The German automobile giant will offer several performance packages too. However, we believe this bike will have more than sufficient power even in its stock state.
