2014 Ceat Pune Supercross League; Pramod Joshua Most Valuable Rider
The 2014 Ceat Pune Invitational Supercross is set to begin, however, they had an auction of the riders for teams. This was the very first auction in Supercross League. A Bangalore rider has been auctioned for INR 1,10,000 to compete in MX1 category.
DSK Racing team has paid the highest bid for Bangalore's Pramod Joshua, who is now officially the most sought after rider for 2014 Supercross League. Pramod Joshua will ride his Honda CRF 250cc motorcycle, he has already been crowned that National Champion in Indian Expert Class of 2011.
Seven teams bid aggressively for their preferred rider, they had an option of 35 riders to choose from. The second most expensive rider this year was from Sri Lanka. Ishan Dasanayake was bagged by SAN Racing team for a bid of INR 1,06,000.
Only four rider breached the elusive one lakh barrier this year's Supercross League. The third most expensive rider that all fought for was Gaurav Khatri, who will ride for PB Racing. He was sought after for an amount of INR 1,02,000. Harith Noah also was purchased for INR 1,00,000 and will compete for Aranha Racing.
There will be seven international rider participating in 2014 Supercross League. These riders were not part of the auction system and were allotted to the different teams via an open lots, which was held post auction. The International riders will compete in SX1 category this year.
The 2014 Ceat Supercross League will also give a chance to junior riders in their ‘Junior Rider Adoption Program'. The junior riders will part of the professional teams and will gain loads of experience. These junior riders were placed in different teams through an open lot system.
Round One of Ceat Pune Invitational Supercross 2014, commences on 9th November, 2014 in Nashik. So make sure to catch the action from India's biggest Supercross event, which will have domestic as well as international riders competing against each other.
