Yamaha Ray & Ray Z Sales Set Pace For Growth
Courtesy of blooming sales of both the Ray and Ray Z automatic scooters Yamaha Motors sales have shot northwards. The Japanese two wheeler manufacturer in India witnessed a growth of 53 percent in domestic sales in September 2013, compared to the corresponding period last year.
The company sold 46,790 units in September 2013 as against 30,638 units in Sep 2012. Exports also saw numbers going up from 11,597 units in Sept 2012 to 13,241 units in Sept 2013. Total sales numbers, hence stood at 60,031 units, which translates to a growth of 42 percent.

Speaking on the results, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said, "We are very pleased with our consistent sales performance this year at a 35% average growth rate. This can be attributed to our strong product portfolio, upbeat customer confidence and new launches in the scooter segment. This festive season we are very upbeat about our new scooters Ray Precious Edition and Ray Z. The scooter segment has really caught on and is expected to be the growth driver for the 2 wheeler industry. This makes us quite confident about continuing our growth story in the coming months as well."
