Yamaha Launches Ray Z Targeted At Men

Yamaha Motor India has launched a new scooter model, the Ray Z, which is more of a variant of the existing Ray. The Ray Z is being marketed as a masculine counterpart to the Ray, which is specifically meant for women. Functionally, the Ray Z is exactly the same as the existing Ray scooter, differentiated only by a few cosmetic changes.

While the Ray is offered in colors such as pink, generally seen as feminine, the Ray Z looks bolder and sportier. The minor visual upgrade is the result of a new black and red dual tone body paint with sporty graphics. The Ray Z also features aluminium black split grab rails, a smoked finish visor like on a motorcycle, a redesigned instrument panel with faux carbon fiber background. Lastly, a carbon fiber patterned seat cover. Yamaha Ray Z retains the air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine with automatic transmission.

Besides the Ray Z, Yamaha also revealed two new variants of the Yamaha SZ bike lineup - SZ-RR and SZ-S. Both variants receive mild cosmatic upgrades. Smoked windscreen, aluminum grab-bars and 3D "SZ" emblem for the SZ-RR. And for the SZ-S, "a simpler design in the fuel tank that creates a calmer, more composed impression that will also be appreciated by all members of a family." Images and price in the gallery below.
