World Cross Country Rally Championship: CS Santosh

CS Santosh from Bangalore who is a multiple national supercross and dirt track champion has now set his sights on the World Cross Country Rally Championship which starts in Abu Dhabi on the 4th of April and then to the second round in Qatar on the 21st of April. This is the first time an Indian will be at the Abu Dhabi desert challenge and with his recent victory at the 14th Raid De Himalaya Santosh will be looking to break inside the top 20 in his first ever outing at the World Cross Country Rally Championship.

Although a lot of press has followed after the big win at the Raid De Himalaya it is not something that has happened overnight. Santosh has been racing for a decade now and has won titles across all platforms from Supercross/ Motocross to Dirt track and Rally.He is also the highest finisher from India at the Asian Motocross Championship with his best finish being 4th in 2008.
Santosh is now all set to take on the ultimate adventure, the road to Dakar. He intends to for the next 2 years be actively riding the World Cross Country Rally Championship and gather enough good finishes to take on the Dakar rally in the year 2015 . Considering his achievements in the recent past it would be hard to bet against him as he takes on the rest of the world flying the Indian flag.
This would not have been possible without the support of FMSCI, Pro Bikes Dubai, MP1, Mercureal sports, community partner xBHP and his family and friends, his dedication means countless hours of training on and off the bike , he has also gone that extra mile as he recently spent a week in America with Dakar Rally winner Jimmy Lewis in Nevada doing navigation training.
We can only be proud to say that this foray of CS Santosh will only bring positives to the Indian motor cycle scene and this beginning will invariable open up doors for a lot of the young talented Indian riders in the near future and consolidate India's emergence in the world of motorsports on two wheels.
