Vespa S Confirmed For India
It is now clear that Piaggio is gradually looking to increase the presence of its Vespa brand in India. The LX125 was the first to debut last year and only recently, the VX125, a different variant sporting a front disc was launched. Now, the Italian premium scooter manufacturer has confirmed a new model - Vespa S for India.
Moreover, the ultra premium Vespa 946 has also been confirmed for India. The Vespa S, however, will be priced in the same range as the existing LX and VX 125 models. Vespa S is slated for launch later this year.

Vespa S has the same basic shape of the LX125, but sports a classic rectangle shaped headlight.

Even the instrument cluster is a blast from the past. The speedometer and fuel gauge are both analog, accompanied by a digital clock. The warning lights remind us of Vespa scooters of yore.

The engine is similar to the 125cc unit used in the LX125. The four stroke single cylinder engine delivers power in the range of 10 HP.

The single sided sided front shocks and the trade mark Vespa monocoque chassis are also seen in the Vespa S.

"It is the most sporty and youthful Vespa "small body" available. The lines express dynamic character and youth, with their clean and essential, but definitely spirited, sections. It is a Vespa that makes minimalist design its distinguishing feature in order to definitively win the approval of the youngest enthusiasts."

"Vespa S Sport brings out the sport spirit of Vespa with strictly minimalist aesthetics which, thanks to its small body, are reminiscent of the 1970s circa models. The simple yet eye-catching livery of the Vespa S Sport emphasises its clean, restrained forms. The dedicated graphics and the saddle, single seat for the 50 version, with white piping and thermobonding, convey a further sporty touch."
