The Valley Run - Festival of Speed 2013
The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has announced that it will hold The Valley Run - Festival of Speed 2013 drag racing event during the second week of March. The organizers have chosen the Aamby Valley City Air Strip, Ambavne, Pune as the venue for the racing event.
The Valley Run 2013 event happens to be India's first international level drag racing event. The two day racing festival will be start on 9th March and continue on the next day as well. The highlight of the event will be the presence of ten time World Drag Racing Champion Rickey Gadson, who will inaugurate the event. Furthermore, Gadson will take part in an exhibition race on a ZZR1400 Monster Energy race bike. He will also interact with participants and offer his valuable advice.
The Valley Run 2013 drag racing event is open not just for professional racing drivers, but also for anyone interested in giving the high octane event a try. Racing categories range from 100cc to 225cc two-stroke bikes and diesel cars with engines measuring over the 3001 cc mark. Over 300 supercars, superbikes and custom modified vehicles are expected to take part in the event.
Speaking on the occasion of FMSCI's 40th year President Vicky Chandhok said, The FMSCI has grown leaps and bounds over the last 40 years and this was to commemorate all the people who have made it possible. We are in a very important era of motorsport in the country and it is crucial that we build from here. We also wanted to honour the winners from the different categories of motorsport in the country from last year and we hope to have a bigger and better year of Indian Motorsport in 2013."
