TVS Celebrates Million Apaches With Contest

TVS Motors, India's fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer, has reached a new milestone. TVS Apache, the company's flagship premium motorcycle, is now owned by a million customers. As a way to celebrate TVS has started a contest on Facebook.

The contest titled "The Beast seeks a new skin" is aimed at creating a one of a kind Apache, one in a million to be exact. Participants are expected to download a template of the bike's fuel tank and design body graphics. The design with the most likes wins the contest.

The winner gets to take home the aforementioned one-off TVS Apache. It is not clear whether the one-off Apache will be the one designed by the winner or a different model altogether.

The fight for supremacy in the Indian motorcycle front has been a difficult one, particularly for TVS. Though the Apache, which is the only motorcycle in it's segment to offer ABS, has a faithful fan following, its strength alone has not been enough for TVS to break into the top three position. TVS recently gained some teeth by becoming the last major Indian two wheeler manufacturer to partner up with an international brand, BMW Motorrad. In the long run the partnership should prove productive for the Hosur based TVS Motors as it starts developing new, premium products for both international and local markets.
