MV Agusta Brutale California By Simone D’Auria Is A Modern Work Of Art
Italian sports bike manufacturer MV Agusta has made a name for itself by building high performance motorcycles that ride great, sound like a master musician and look no less stunning than a great renaissance sculpture. So, when the manufacturer set out to look for a way to improve upon perfection it was no easy task.
Back in 2012, the Italian bike maker teamed up with another Italian designer, Simone D'Auria, to create a masterpiece based on the MV Agusta Brutale 1090 R. The intent was not to design a new bike, but to remodel an existing one using different materials. It resulted in a finished product that lookes like its made from wood - a Simone D'Auria signature design style. The two parties have repeated their partnership this year. Called the Brutale California, it is a work of art that will make even a motorcycle atheist fall in love with the bike.
This one-off Brutale California, created by designer Simone D'Auria is based on a 2012 Brutale 1090 R. The bike remains mechanically unchanged.
Simone D'Auria has replaced the bike's stock panels with those made from carbon fiber. What's unique is the wood finish, a style which the designer calls "Wood Vibrations".
Detailing has been provided with MV Agusta's Vertigo blue and gold colours. The panels have a texture that feels soft to the touch.
Last year's version was similar, but the panels were given a red walnut finish, instead of the dark walnut finish received by this year's work.

The fact that this special edition Brutale California by Simone D'Auria will be displayed in museums and galleries goes to prove this is a bike not just for bike lovers but for art lovers in general.
