LML Freedom Relaunched In Delhi

LML, once a well known name across India, is now a struggling two wheeler manufacturer, well behind market majors Hero, Honda, bajaj and TVS. The Kanpur based manufacturer currently relies on export markets and a slim line of mass market two wheelers, including the LML Freedom 110cc bike.

Today, LML Freedom motorcycle was relaunched, presumably with some minor updates, in Delhi. Details are limited to a single newspaper ad and nothing more. The muted launch is not surprising since most of LML's motorcycle sales comes from the National Capital Region.

As part of the refresh, the LML Freedom seems to have received alloy wheels, a new paint job, new graphics and a redesigned headlight fairing.

The erstwhile Piaggio partner still sells scooters, which, once again, has a reasonable market only in NCR regions. In the coming months, however, LML plans to re-enter mainstream Indian two wheeler market with the introduction of several new models. Several of these will be gearless scooters, a segment LML is quite comfortable with due to its history as a leading scooter manufacturer.
