Lauge Jensen Juggles EURO4
Today, 5th September, 2013: Calm down! It's not football. Get excited: The motorcycle world was stunned when a Danish Underdog Company ‘Lauge Jensen' passed the toughest test of the EURO 4. So what is the EURO4? Well, it's an emission test for vehicles set by the European member states.
Now, Lauge Jensen. Who is he? It's them; Lauge Jensen is a small unique, creative and a custom motorcycle manufacturing company in Denmark. The man behind this achievement is Uffe Lauge Jensen, founder and developer - striving to put Danish talent back on the european and global map of automobiles after the Nimbus, 1960. (a danish motorbike from the 60's)
Now back to EURO4: The EURO4 takes place at TUV Automotive in Pfungstadt, Germany. The motorcycles used in the test must have been running for at least 1000 km, as the efficiency of the catalytic converters reduces with use. Bikes are put to the test under various conditions for 1800 seconds(x3). Lauge Jensen was the first bike to pass this test successfully. The EURO4 was considered 50% tougher to the previous EURO3.
The heart needs to be healthy to survive. Lauge Jensen consider the engine as the heart of the bike. Creativity on not just hand-built pistons, camshafts, exhausts, catalytic converter for the internals of the 1,800cc V twin engine and a software to program the fuel injection system don't make them unique. It's the dedication and specs of the most minute parts of the bike that defines the Lauge Jensen.
