Honda CBR1000RR SP Unveiled In EICMA; Specifications & Details
Japanese superbike manufacturers have lately fallen behind in terms of technology and performance when compared to their European counterparts such as the Ducati Panigale 1199 and the BMW HP4. It was hence widely presumed Honda would introduce its V4 engine powered series of superbike at EICMA.
Unfortunately, that's been delayed. Instead what we have got is the CBR1000RR SP, a spiced up version of the old Fireblade. In other words, a high performance version of Honda's superbike that offers more power and better equipments. Here are the details.
More Exciting News From EICMA 2013

Besides the additional equipments and features, the 2014 CBR1000RR SP engine has also been tweaked so that it now produces 178 HP and 113.88 Nm of torque, a slight improvement over the standard 176 HP.

You would expect a high performance version of a motorcycle to weigh less than standard model. Instead, the 2014 CBR1000RR SP is about half a kilo heavier.

The rear seat is now missing, which is the result of a lighter subframe.

According to Honda, the additional performance oriented equipments amount to $5,000 when equipped separately. However, the 2014 Honda CBR1000RR SP has a price of $16,800, which is $2,000 less.

The list of changes in the 2014 Honda CBR1000RR SP is as follows.
