Honda ‘Activa Doctor’ To Offer Door Step Service
Honda Activa, India's largest selling scooter will soon take on a new role. That of a doctor. Or at least, a doctor for other Honda two wheelers. This is Honda Two Wheelers' latest initiative to further improve its vehicle repair & service programme and increase its presence in rural markets.
Honda Two Wheelers already runs mobile service vans as part of its last mile service network. This initiative is particularly effective in rural areas where service centers are not easily accessible. The Activa Doctor will further bolster its mobile service programme by reaching the doorsteps of its customers.
Honda Activa Doctor will be a specially equipped Activa containing all the basic tools and spare parts required to carry out minor or emergency repairs of all sorts of Honda two wheelers. Every service center, both in cities and rural areas will have an Activa Doctor, driven by a well trained technician.

Honda's latest initiative, though available in urban areas, has been mainly launched to increase its pace of growth in rural areas. The company at present gets 35 percent of its total sales volume from outside towns and cities. Honda seeks to increase this to 40 percent by the end of 2014.
Honda two wheelers admits that its difficult to topple the market leader, Hero MotoCorp from the top position owing to its hold over the rural areas. Hero's strength lies in its robust service and support network. Honda also seeks to increase the number of touchpoints by 500, from its current 2,000 odd sales and service centers, by end of 2014.
Honda Activa Doctor door step service is undoubtedly an innovative and unconventional way to not just provide better service to its existing customers, but to also gain new ones.
