Hero MotoCorp With Start/Stop, Combined Braking & Engine Immobilizer
In the coming months we could witness some exciting developments coming from the Hero MotoCorp stable as the Indian two wheeler major plans to upgrade its two wheeler lineup extensively. Vague details about some of these plans came to light at Hero MotoCorp's recently held annual sales conference at Macau.
The more immediate developments would be the introduction of three major tech features to its existing two wheeler lineup. These would be Start/Stop system, Integrated Braking System and Engine Immobilizer.
These technologies would be gained by the Splendor, the company's most successful model, Pleasure scooter and CBZ X-Treme respectively. It looks like the plan is to give people a taste of the new features by introducing them in selected models. However, over time these and other innovative features will spread across all its models. Here's a brief introduction to some above mentioned features.

Splendor iSmart with Start/Stop technology
Start/Stop is a feature most commonly found only in relatively higher end four wheeler models. Hero's Start/Stop feature is called i3S, standing for ideal Start-Stop System. When introduced, the Splendor will become the first two wheeler in India to come with Start/Stop system. Introduced with the Splendor iSmart, Start/Stop will become a standard on all Hero models eventually.

The Splendor's claim to fame has always been its high fuel economy. With Start/Stop its fuel economy figure would receive a significant bump. And that would be just on time since Splendor has been feeling the heat lately from the likes of Honda Dream Yuga among others, all of which can match and even surpass the the Splendor's efficiency.

Integrated/Combined Braking System
Combined braking system is a already found in Honda's two wheelers. Be it the Activa automatic scooter or CB Trigger 150cc bike. Due to this fact, it becomes imperative for Hero's products to sport integrated braking system.

Integrated/Combined Braking System
The next gen Hero Pleasure automatic scooter will come sporting integrated braking system. The system works by applying front and rear brakes even when only one of the brake lever is applied by the rider. This reduces stopping distance as well as improves handling.

Engine Immobilizer
Once again, engine immobilizer is a terminology commonly used with cars. The feature is a theft deterrent system that kicks in when a key, other than the vehicle's own, is used to start the engine. The system immediately detects this and cuts off the ignition system, immobilizing the engine.

Engine Immobilizer
Hero CBZ X-Treme will be the first bike to boast of this feature. It is also likely Hero's flagship motorcycle, the next gen Karizma R and ZMR will come with this feature as standard.

Next Gen Karizma ZMR
Speaking of Karizma, the next gen ZMR model, revealed in Macau, has received plenty of inputs from EBR during its deelopment. While nothing has been formally announced, the engine is likely to boast a higher state of tune. The bike also comes with new design features, such as new headlights and a sporty tail unit, along with split seats and larger fairings.
