Harley Davidson To Axe Six Models For 2014
Harley Davidson will cut short its 2014 motorcycle line-up by six models according to a report on VisorDown. These models will include Harley-Davidson FLHRC Road King Classic, Harley-Davidson FLHR Road King, FLRTX Road Glide Custom, FLTRU Road Glide Ultra, FXS Softail Blackline, Harley-Davidson XR1200X-R Sporster.
While production of FLHRC Road King Classic will be stopped in North America, the FLHR Road King will get the axe in all other markets. The U.S market will also lose the FLHTC Electra Glide Classic. Some of these models are however, expected to return after some redesigning.
Harley Davidson has decided to take this measure to streamline the number of choices available for buyers as it felt it created confusion among customers. The step is also expected to reduce product overlap. It also goes without saying that one of the other reason is declining sales in the U.S, Harley Davidson's largest market.
