Greyp G-12 Electric Bicycle Is Certainly Exciting
Electric bicycles are not new, but every once in awhile there comes out a product that manages to catch our attention. The G-12, from a company called Greyp, is one such electric bike. Interestingly, the same company has also built a high performance electric car called Rimac Automobili Concept_One.
As with all electric vehicles G-12 comes with different modes which helps it transmission from a relatively high performance bike to a green moped for the city to a mountain bike. G-12 also features some impressive electronic features. Here is a quick look, along with a demo video.

G-12 is powered by a 12 kW (16 HP) wheel hub mounted motor that draws power from a 1.3 kWh Lithium-Nanophosphate battery cells. According to Greyp this type of battery is considered one of the most advanced high performance cells.

The batteries can be recharged to 100 percent in just 80 minutes using a standard 220V outlet. A full charge consumes not more than 1,3 kWh of energy.

G-12 can run on pedal power whenever you feel the need for it. This also recharges the cells and so does coasting and braking.

Speaking of brakes, at the front are dual hydraulic discs and a single one at the rear. But Greyp says you hardly ever need to use them since the regenerative system itself slows down the bike.

Running only on electric power the G-12 can reach speeds of up to 65 km/h. On a single charge the batteries offer a range of 120 kms. Add pedal power and we are guessing you can exceed that speed limit, not to mention the range.

G-12 comes with three riding modes
Street: Ideal for travelling within the city, this mode limits top speed to 25 km/h and only 250 W of power is consumed.
Power: Also called speed mode, this opens the full potential of the electric system, generating 12kW and allowing you to reach 65 km/h.
Eco: This mode offers the ideal balance between performance and regeneration.

The coolest feature of G-12 has to be the electronics. The bike comes with a fingerprint reader. This is used not only to unlock the bike, but different fingers can be assigned to start the bike in a specific riding mode. Example: Thumb for Speed mode or index finger for Eco mode.

Each user can save up to 5 fingers and 50 users can save their fingerprints. The owner can also restrict user rights, such as limit the speed or riding time.
Greyp G-12 can be yours for $7900. For more information you can visit http://www.greyp-bikes.com
