Ducati India Official Entry Announced
Ducati, considered the Ferrari among motorcycles, was among the first international premium two wheeler brands to enter India, in 2008. However, Ducati did not have a direct presence and instead relied on a local third party importer & distributor, Precision Motors.
Precision Motors proved to be huge let down, dragging down the Ducati name along with the business. Service was poor, customers faced delayed and even non delivery among many other problems. Now, after some five years distrust among potential customers is running high and sales are almost non existent.

But not for long. Ducati has announced that it will re-enter India soon and this time around it will have an official presence, which should sort out all existing problems. Until Ducati formally takes over distribution and operations, however, Precision Motors will continuing handling its affairs.

Outlining how growing consumer and commercial expectations had driven this decision, Cristiano Silei, Vice President Sales and Marketing of Ducati, said: "We consider India an extremely important part of Ducati's future global strategy and will strengthen our presence in the market with premium services and a larger network that will be in line with our global standards. Our entry into the Indian market is therefore a first step in this direction."
It remains to be seen if Ducati, which is now part of the vast Volkswagen Group, will take aid from its parent company in setting up dealerships in India. It is possible that Audi dealerships in India could be roped in to set up Ducati dealerships as well. For Ducati fans in India these are signs of good times to come.
Ducati Monster is the Italian premium mototrycle brand's best selling model world wide. At EICMA 2013, Ducati launched the all new Monster 1200, powered by their Testastrata engine. Ducati's other offerings include, the Panigale superbike, the Diavel cruiser, the Hypermotard supermoto, the Multistrada tourer & the Streetgighter.
