Video: BMW HP4 vs R1200GS At Circuito de Almeria
When the task at hand is to race in a closed circuit and all that matters is speed BMW HP4 is the best BMW Motorrad has to offer to its regular customers. The HP4 is the closest production BMW equivalent to a MotoGP spec BMW machine. And the gap is not too large either.
On the other hand is the R1200GS. Not a race bike as per se, but when the road ends and opens up into dirt and wilderness the R1200GS is the bike one would bet their life on. The R1200GS is a touring/adventure bike. And what it lacks in speed, it makes up with its off road and load carrying capabilities.
So, at a press event BMW decided to demonstrate the capabilities of both bikes. Without even watching we all know which bike would come out on top. However, the result might surprise you. The race takes place in Spain's Circuito de Almeria. Keep in mind that this is not a serious race. Hence, do not take the outcome of the race too seriously and just enjoy watching two great motorcycles and their riders demonstrating their skills.
