Bajaj Cruiser Concept Scheduled For Auto Show Reveal
Just when we were starting to think Bajaj had totally abandoned the cruiser segment, comes reports about the two wheeler maker planning on showcasing a new cruiser model at the upcoming India Auto expo in Feb 2014.
Details about the said cruiser is almost nil, except for a couple of facts, which are, it will be a concept model and it will entirely different from the Avenger. The report has also been confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto.
At present the Avenger 220 is the only cruiser motorcycle offered by Bajaj Auto and its been quite a while since any upgrades were made to the model. The Avenger 220 is powered by a 219.89cc single cylinder, DTS-i engine that's rated at 19.03 PS and 17.5 Nm of torque, which is the same engine that's found in the Pulsar 220.
As we have seen, throughout the year Bajaj has continued to concentrate on the Pulsar and Discover lineup and completely ignored the Avenger. Bajaj will even be bringing forth two new Pulsar models - Pulsar 200SS and Pulsar 375. It is likely Bajaj will showcase the upcoming Pulsars alongside the cruiser concept. We eagerly await.
