TVS To Build Fuel Efficient Engines
TVS is aiming to achieve this by making improvements to its engines and transmissions., It is also looking to develop energy conservation related technologies too. TVS Motor is hoping these technologies will help boost is vehicles' mileage thereby providing a much needed sales boost.
TVS has stated that the first set of vehicles with new engine technology will be tested by September. Following a long testing process, these vehicles are expected to join production later next year. The new technology will be available for buyers only by December 2013.
TVS is also working on hybrid technology for its vehicles. The company is confident that its new engines, coupled with its hybrid technology will offer the best mileage which buyers are looking for. High petrol costs have made buyers opt for more fuel efficient vehicles.
TVS is also focusing on improving engine efficiency and prevent energy loss that is caused by frequent changing of gears. TVS is also looking to improve mileage by improving aerodynamics. It is said that friction caused by wind alone can reduce a vehicle's mileage by 10 per cent.
TVS needs to focus on these technologies and respond quickly as it is evident that sales will come down if its vehicles are not highly fuel efficient. The increased petrol prices has forced even people buying high end vehicles to think about mileage. TVS has taken a step in the right direction by developing technologies to improve a bike's mileage.
